So, Grandma and Grandpa paid an overdue visit to Denver on the weekend of Sam's 4th birthday. On Saturday, September 20th, we went to Lakeside Amusement Park. Lakeside is a really old park and really retro and not too big! I love it. They have great kids rides. So the first picture is at my house. Aunt Robin met us at Lakeside and gave Sam a new truck accompanied by a card that barked "Happy Birthday". Sam thought the dogs would love it. What is also funny is he is wearing his hand picked "birthday outfit". The shirt because he loves star wars and the sweats because "they are so soft".
The next picture was on one of their favorite rides with Grandma. The last picture is the horse and buggy ride. We got lucky, it was the last weekend Lakeside was open and the weather held and didn't rain until just as we were leaving that night. It was great fun with Grandma and Grandpa.
Isaac call's them "gandma and gandpa" in his pretty traditional ways of dropping the r's. You want your kids to grow up, but you miss the cute way they talk when they do. Grandma and Grandpa loved being "gandma and gandpa". They were here just over 4 days and every morning the kids jumped out of bed excitedly to see them.
I loved it too. Mom helped me with the sewing, which was worth days of self learning.
Oh the truly good and important things in life :)!

I can relate to Sam picking his own outfit. Erik frequently chooses his clothes based only on their softness!
