Exhiliration!

So, I posted about a week ago a political post with a little trepedation. I had some immediate resistance which took me a little off guard, and made me even a little uncomfortable as I was worried since it's someone I love very much. But, I have had some time to think and I have really missed talking about things like this and feel like I have gained so much. I love polite society and I meant for my blog to be a fun and simple place for pictures of my kids and light jokes. But it has felt so good to be uncomfortable and talk about things that really matter. It feels great. It's like a hidden and loved side of me has been awakened. How nice it is to talk about things. Ah, it hurts so good. Thanks Steph you are the best.

You know a while ago I made it most of the way through an autobiography of a woman who was the editor of the Washington Post during the Watergate years. I wish I was smarter and had a better memory that I could remember her name, but I can't. Anyways, she comes from a rich and powerful Washington family and spent years there. She said people would get together and debate all night, even yelling at each other, but the friendship and respect they had for each other brought them back to each other night after night. I think it likely made them more intelligent, so I want to replicate with people who want to do the same. I also decided tonight, as I wanted to wind down and find a good movie on demand, that it might help me to see "Guess who's coming to dinner" as it is referred to so much. It's a talking movie that takes place all in one day. It's all talking and loaded with food for thought. I loved it. Maybe I'm following the wrong genre, but I wish they made more movies like that today. It made me decide I want to talk about issues.

So, what I have decided to do is start a seperate blog. I have put a link on my blog list. This blog will return to family pics and a journal. I will save any opinions of political nature for that blog and others who want to read it and disagree. Please Steph join and a shout to anyone who is conservative and disagrees with me. It will be a boring sight I will quickly shut down without you.
